Our household is comprised of both early birds and night owls. I am quite certain that there is at least one person in the family that is awake at all hours of the day and night.
The other morning, at about 3:30, Jonah and I were both still awake. I had just taken my Melatonin and was trying to get tired enough to sleep when Luke got up to go to the bathroom.
“Hi,” he said with a little wave as he walked into the kitchen. He looked at the clock on the microwave and asked, “What is everyone doing up so early?”
I explained to him that we were not up early but that we were actually up late. “Oh,” he said then proceeded to sit down at the table.
“So what are we doing today?” he asked as if he was ready to start the day.
“You mean tomorrow?” I asked.
“No, today.” he insisted.
“I don’t know about you, but I plan to sleep. See you in the morning, kiddo. Goodnight.”
